北亿纤通多芯光纤是一种在共同的包层区域中设计多个独立纤芯的新型光纤。根据纤芯间距可分为大纤芯距多芯光纤和小纤芯距多芯光纤。大纤芯距多芯光纤即不产生光波耦和的光纤，该光纤能提高传输线路单位面积光传输密度。小纤芯距多芯光纤由于纤芯之间的距离近能产生光波耦合作用，利用该原理开发的双纤芯敏感器或光回路器件可用于光纤传感领域。
