北亿纤通3C（Chirally-coupled-core）手性耦合纤芯光纤采用在线旋转预制棒拉制制备，其石英包层内有两条纤芯，一条是沿轴向分布的中央纤芯，芯径较大，一般在30µm以上，用于信号光的传输；另一条是偏离中心轴、围绕中央纤芯螺旋分布的侧芯，芯径只有十几微米，用来控制中央纤芯的模式，将高阶模耦合进侧芯并对其产生高衰减(大于100dB/m)，不依靠任何模式控制技术便可实现中央纤芯中的基模以极低衰减地传输(小于0.1dB/m)，同时保持较大的模场面积。
